Job Overview
The Production and Design Assistant helps facilitate communications and production for the association and its two media brands. The ideal candidate will be able to use design knowledge and experience to create compelling visuals and deliver strategic multi-channel digital and print assets and support print and digital campaign production for the association. The Production and Design Assistant will be eager to work on a variety of initiatives and assist in developing and executing various communications initiatives across mediums, including email and marketing campaigns, social media content, web assets, layouts and a variety of print collateral.
Responsibilities
Production
- Curate, assemble and schedule e-newsletters, website updates and social media content, including designing necessary assets according to brand standards
- Assist the production manager in preparing print-ready materials for press
- Develop, maintain and update production schedules and assignments as needed throughout production cycles
- Update project management systems with assignments, deadlines and appropriate resources and communicate with multiple departments on project status
- Collaborate with team members across departments on new initiatives, existing projects or for post-production discussions
- Collect performance analytics from multiple platforms and distribute to relevant team members
- Recommend opportunities for improvement or new trends across digital media channels
- Develop survey instruments as needed
- Maintain publication archives and indexes
Graphic Design
- Design a variety of layouts and features for monthly print and digital publications
- Edit and format photos for use in print and web products
- Design or reformat existing designs for use on web, email and social platforms
- For applicants with photography experience or a willingness to learn, there is opportunity for travel to lead or assist on photoshoots

Your Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, advertising, business operations or related field
- 1-3 years in a project management, design or coordinator role
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom
- Proficiency in Mailchimp or similar email management system
- Experience with project management systems such as Asana
- Experience developing assets for use across mediums and platforms
- Knowledge of social media and digital media best practices
- Knowledge of Google Suite including docs, sheets and slides
- Copy editing experience and AP style knowledge is a plus
- Basic HTML and experience in WordPress a plus
