They offer recycling services, are Santa Clara County Bay Area Green Business certified at the Palo Alto location, were one of the first businesses on the Peninsula to install solar on their building and they carry low-VOC paint and eco-friendly brands.
Operations manager Jacqueline Fenton has been with the company for nine years. She came to the Bay Area from Texas one summer and worked as a cashier for Hassett Hardware. She loved the Hassett family and her work in the hardware store so much, she decided to make her stay in California permanent. Each year, Fenton asked for more responsibility and three years ago she became the operations manager for all the stores, a position the company had never had before.
“I basically dropped everything I was doing to move here,” she says. “I knew I wanted to work for a company where people care and are interested in your life and feel like family. I have that here at Hassett Hardware. I enjoy what I do, and I love being on a team that works well together.”
