Job Description

We need a self-starting problem solver who will engage our customers, demonstrate superior product knowledge, and create a shopping experience that will make customers feel welcome and comfortable. Essential functions include:

• Assist customers in all aspects of service

• Determine customer needs based on information they have given you about their projects, and other customer preference-related factors

• Demonstrate knowledge of store products to build sales and minimize returns

• Maintain a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm

• Be knowledgeable of and perform POS procedures

• Write, enter, and process customer special orders

• Promote and foster a collaborative teamwork-based culture

Required Education and Skills

• A Great Attitude! Must enjoy meeting and interacting with customers. Must possess a strong sense of urgency and a thirst for learning.

• Education/Experience – High school diploma or GED. Previous retail experience preferred, but not required – WE WILL PROVIDE ON THE JOB TRAINING!!

• Communication Skills – Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong problem-solving, influencing and negotiating skills. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management. Able to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.

• Mathematical Skills – Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to use a calculator. Must be able to calculate percentages and ratios. Must be able to make change using American Monetary units.

• Work Hours – Ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed, and work as necessary to meet job requirements. This may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events such as Ladies Night and Contractor Appreciation Night.
